Career Development Professional 3

The Career Development Professional 3 (CDP 3) is responsible for assessing an individual’s employment/career needs and identifying those who are suitable for case management. CDP 3s work with these individuals in a collaborative, client driven process.

They possess a strong ability to develop action plans, including or connected to interventions and referrals.

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • Strong knowledge of community organizations, service providers, and referral agencies
  • Ability to access and effectively use information and communications technology; conduct research
  • Able to perform or conduct needs assessments
  • Solid understanding of Labour Market Information (LMI) and its applications
  • Recommended to have CCDP (Certified Career Development Practitioner) Certification (obtained or working towards)
  • Formal training in case management practices
  • Working knowledge of career development theory and applications
  • Ability to define and manage career and personal development goals and transition
  • Adherence to inclusionary practice, ethical decision making, respect for diversity, confidentiality
  • Solid understanding of assessment processes, tools and resources
  • Working knowledge of employment/career related services, programs and interventions
  • Commitment to professional development and career self-management
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary or equivalent
  • Recommended to have a CCDP designation (obtained or working towards)
  • Recommended to have Case Management formal training
  • Able to perform or conduct needs assessments
  • 3+ years of experience in the field
  • Demonstrated all competencies of CDP 1 and 2
