Job Developer
The Job Developer is responsible for creating job opportunities for individuals who have difficulty marketing themselves to employers (Market Perception Barriers). Job Developers make a crucial link between the job seeker and the local business community.
Job developers need to understand diverse client needs, prepare clients for employment, make effective client-employer matches, and maintain effective relationships with employers.
The ideal candidate possesses:
- Good knowledge of community organizations, service providers, and referral agencies
- Ability to access and effectively use information and communications technology; conduct research
- Solid understanding of Labour Market Information (LMI) and its applications
- Good understanding of workplace culture and employer expectations
- Good understanding of the unique differences of diverse job seekers, ability to assess job readiness
- Ability to match job seekers skills to job requirements and use a strengths based approach to job matching
- Able to utilize various strategies and incentives to develop employer relationships to encourage and support job matching
Qualifications
- Post-secondary or equivalent
- Demonstrated all competencies of CDP 3
- Recommended to have a Disability Support certificate (obtained or working towards)
